The Boys on China Radio International, "The Sound Stage"...
This episode of "The Sound Stage" was filmed secretly in downtown Beijing in an underground recording studio that was previously a bomb shelter.
The secrecy was neccessary because The Boys' Chinese tour had just been cancelled by the Ministry of Culture for "crowd control and security" grounds and the band were banned from playing anywhere in China. Undeterred, as well as recording this programme, the band also managed to secretly play three underground gigs, film a one-hour documentary for national TV channel LETV and record a live album, which will be released later this year.
